It won't hurt but as noted in an answer above the benadryl may make you sleepy. Always be careful of taking too much Tylenol. Tylenol is in many preparations, so you have to look for the ingredient "acetaminophen". I've seen patients get into serious liver toxicity taking regular doses of cold medicine with headache preparations both containing acetaminophen AND using alcohol on top of that. Most cough syrups contain a high percentage of alcohol, and many people with a cold try a snort or two on top of that. That's my greatest concern with mixing cold meds - Tylenol liver damage. The company may try to get me for this, but I see little use for Tylenol for anything. Ibuprofen or even aspirin are safer. It's also not a great idea to mix aspirin with Tylenol due to renal concerns but only with long term regular use. (Note - if you have bleeding stomach/duodenal ulcers Aspirin is contraindicated - then Tylenol is OK as a substitute.)

Tylenol is in Comtrex so that is not needed if you take aspirin. I do not believe in the other ingredients in comtrex which may cause a rebound congestion. Benedryl, an antihistimine is also what is in Nytol and Sominex so should make you sleepy. I guess I would think you dont need all three and definitely not together. Take a steamy shower for your cough and congestion, have some soup for electrolyte replacement and to soothe your upper respiratory system and take an aspirin for headache. Drink lots of liquids. Get well soon

I guess so. Benadryl and aspirin aren't in the Comtrex cough and cold.
