Given his track record in the old testament I would assume he would say too little too late.

I think the first answer is completely correct. If that would have happened though, I think that God would have spared the earth. He is a loving, merciful God. Just like He doesn't want to send anyone to hell. People end up going there because He is a just God. If someone were to live there whole life in sin, and want to repent and believe in Jesus to take them to heaven before they knew they were going to die--He would forgive and allow that person to go to heaven. (of course they would have to be sincere) I think it is the same in that manner. Hope that clears up your question. :)

In the case of Ninevah, he spared the city because the people repented. Jonas was kind of angry about it, feeling he had been made to look like a fool, especially since he wasn't too fond of the Ninevites.

By the time God commissioned Noah to build the ark, God already knew the people weren't gonna repent. He rolls like that...his goodness and mercy forever...

He'll have noah and his crew get on board and prepare to launch anyway, in case it's a ploy. The flood guys will stay on yellow alert, and the angel crack troops will begin infiltrating the human settlements in disguise.
On confirmation of our surrender, they'll stand down.
Otherwise... well.. everything will still go as planned.
He's a canny one.

He would have struck Noah dead for taking so long to complete his task, and mucking up God's business plan.
There was no such thing as 40 hour weeks back then and if Noah hadn't finished, it would have been because he was sleeping on the job. That would have been grounds for "termination".

He would have caused a mighty wind to lift the boat up and deposit it in the Red Sea, thus making the first cruise line.

What if you spent a whole lifetime in fantasies that are not real and made questions from pure illusion and expected an answer to the delusions?

God would have been relieved. Perhaps Noah would have been upset, like Jonah in Ninevah, but like Jonah he would have come around.
