The purpose of church is not to socialize, flirt, or show off one's clothing.
The purpose of church is to hear the Word of God; faith comes through hearing.
An uplifting message. Some uplifting music with an uplifting message. It's all about uplifting.
And of course, church is a way to worship God...to praise God.
And a church is a place that is convenient to pay our tithes.

I desire to be in God's presence all the time and the best place to get into His presence is in church. Church is a place for our spirits to be nourished by the His Word via the annointed flow of the Holy Spirit, through a Pastor commissioned to preach the Word. Church is where we gain access to God' throne room and receive revelations of our purpose to do God's will. Church is a place to fellowship with supportive group of people who recognize that we all need to edify and build each other up in Christ. Church is a place of refuge and safety, because once we "get our praise on" the adversary cannot touch us. And once we "get our praise on" in full worship of the Lord, victory to overcome any trial and tribulation is within reach in the Holiest Room, in His presence ~ Church gives us this opportunity to "reapply the blood of Christ", become regenerated through the Holy Spirit in His presence, and share in this victory he accomplished at Calvary. Church is where we become overcomers, peacekeepers, laborers, healers, protectors and BLESSED. I want God to bless me and everyone I know. That is why I go to church.
God Bless You!

It's like asking:
Why do you go to school? (to learn)
Why do you go to the hospital? (to get healed)
You don't go to church to meet God, because you should actually have met Him all the time. So Church is like a club of people of same interests that share their experiences and help others.

To be in community with others that are a part of the family of the Lord. To be with the Lord in His Church.

The Church is the Houise of God. It is the place you give your worship to Him. It is the place where you communicate and ask forgiveness of your sins. A place where every happy family visits during Sundays and listens to the Word of God..

People who do not go to Church often feel that they understand why people do (a lonely self imposed sense of guilt, a longing for community etc etc etc...)..Bottom line is, why ask? Find your own calling. Attacking those who found theirs is not the answer.
I have not been to Mass in years.

I love church.
I stand in the precious presence of Jesus.
Praise and worship in spirit and in truth. To learn more of the word, and to gain revelation. To learn to fight the fiery darts. To be healed, spirit soul and body.
Just to hang out with the brothers and the sisters...

Not going to church reminds me of a married man who doesn't want to sleep in the same bed as his wife.
No you don't have to go to church to be saved, but if you are saved, why wouldn't you want to go?
No you don't have to sleep in the same bed with your wife if your married, but if you are married why wouldn't you want to?
