on the net, i don't see anything about bad interactions with these 2.
Clearly, there is some sort of allergy problem here.
i am guessing that it will be OK, but i wouldn't give the 2 drugs at exactly the same time - together. wait maybe 30 minutes between them.
is the allergy bad enough to consider the emergency room?
=========
If there is swelling everywhere, or fingers cracking at the ends and bleeding, go to the ER now.
Hot regular old tea ( like Lipton or Red Rose; not herbal tea and DEFINITELY not chamomile) can help some breathing problems.
no 24 hour pharmacies around?
You can go to Yahoo Local , and type in 24 hour pharmacies. it will tell you the nearest pharmacy and you can call - even if it is long distance.
Good luck.

Depends on when she last had the Clariten. If she's due another dose then you can switch to the Benedryl safely. Benedryl will probably make her a bit drowsier than Clariten as it contains different chemicals to accomplish the same things as Clariten.

No, absolutely not. You can't give those two drugs at the same time, especially to a hypersensitive kid. The two drugs can have drug interactions which could be serious. Try other otc anithistamines if claritin isn't helping.

I give my 6 years old (60 pounds) 10 mg of claritin in the morning. That is supposed to last 24 hours. But when it doesn't, his doctor said that 8-12 hours after that dose, I could give him a dose of children's benadryl.
He has no medicinal allergies.

I wouldn't give them both to her until you talk to her doctor. you don't want to over medicate her and both of those do basically the same thing. Most Walgreen's have pharmacies open 24 hours a day or you can call your local ER and see what they rec commend

No, you can't do that without doctor's orders. Drug interactions can be harmful. Also, do note that too much medications can cause side effects. If claritin on its own is not helping, she may need to change to a stronger prescription medicine altogether but not take both.
