Bobcat is a 20 to 30 pound cat that feeds mainly on rabbits, rodents, and birds. It is found in 38 of the States and all through Canada.
Wlidcat is a very generic term refering to any wild cat. Sometimes even feral house cats. In North America the only other big cats are the moutain lion and lnyx.
In some states the bobcat is protected, others not. Check your state DNR before shooting at any big cat.

Hi Carol. 'Wildcat' is a generic term for any non-domesticated cat. Bobcat usually refers to a specific feline with a short tail and somewhat smaller than the Lynx normally found further south.
Best.

Wildcat is a term for European Wild Cat which is not a domestic cat. Domestic cat and Wildcat are similar but there are some difference. For example Wildcats are much bigger and their tail is very puffy. You can finde a wildcat in Europe and Africa and Asia.

There's a wildcat that I saw in the back woods of my mommy and daddy's house in NH. I call this type a bobcat here for it's more descriptive.

Bobcats are from north America, while wildcats are from Europe. Wildcats hunt a bigger range of food than a bobcat which pretty much just eats bird.
