Aside from the fact that MSN is a MICROSOFT product, msn need to be updated.
I think Yahoo has always been crap, and only those that have never seen anything but the original MSN will disagree.
Ultimately I think you will find that because 93% of PC and laptop computers are running windows, a lot of the support macs would get is diverted to Windows. This is a capitalist world you know.
Change will cost you Change sorry. $$$

Hi Britcop Jim,
I'm sorry that you aren't happy with the IM choices for the Macintosh. On the other hand, you shouldn't really be too surprised that a company like Microsoft would only do the barest minimum of development for the Macintosh platform. They have a great Macintosh division inside of Microsoft, but what they can do is directed from higher up inside of the company.
The same with Yahoo!, I'm afraid. They will only come up with another Macintosh update when Leopard comes out.
If you've really got to have the games and winks and other little extras from these various IM programs, then you probably need to put BootCamp and Parallel, and Windows on your Mac and just use these Windows version to your heart content. On the other hand, I hear all sorts of griping and complaining from Windows users about these programs too. I'm not even going to get into how you might be leaving yourself open to hacking and viruses by doing this too.
But, it's your choice, and I wish you the best of luck.

Well think about the first one MSN... Microsoft. That is almost like asking why doesn't MAC play .wmv files. It isn't designed to...
Yahoo....well Yahoo is going through some major changes recently. Chatrooms weren't able to be entered for a while, and now each room users have to input a code to prevent bots.

have you tried amsn? http://www.amsn-project.net/download.php
it has webcam/mic support, games, winks and nudges! (if your cam, doesn't work on your mac you can download macam - provides drivers for "pc only" webcams http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net )
It looks very similar to msn for mac - however it does a lot more then microsoft's release, (and yes! it works with your existing msn account. People from msn on pc can interact the way you would expect to amsn.)

MSN is made by microsoft. Yahoo is mainly for windows pc. it is easier to create programs in windows platform than a apple platform. for beginners.
