An allergist can test for this! But if you had that bad a reaction, you probably are! either that or your just very sensitive! Ask your doctor to refer you to an allergist! He will put a little drop on your skin similar to the stuff a mosquito would inject you with and if it reacts, you are allergic!
If you are though, you should make sure to invest in lots of good mosquito repellents! Otherwise you could have a serious reaction if you get bitten too many times!

Considering ALL reactions to mosquito bites are allergy reactions, you're mostly asking if you're super sensitive to mosquitoes and will react more when you're bit than if someone else is bit.

It sounds like you are.

There are a few things you can try. Do you have any antihistamine tablets? Even generic are good, see if your reactions go down after you take them (and don't scratch, that just makes them worse). You can also try taking meat tenderiser and two or three drops of water and smushing that into a paste and putting that over the bites, the salts in it reduces the itching. Calamine lotion is chalky and dries out the skin, also reducing the itch, but it looks awful.

You can also see if a dose of Childrens Benedryl will help, that's for reducing histamine reactions and is gentle enough not to be a problem.

I also swell like this when bitten by mosquitoes and was told i was allergic to the bites. Not much you can do but put bug repellant and use lots of calamine lotion if you get bit. Oh, and don't go camping, LOL.

My doc says i am allergic to many mosquitoes.
and the bites swell up anywhere from an inch across (regular ants) to the worst ones, that swell up and are red about 6 inches across.

That sounds like you.
Benedryl (an OTC antihistamine) seems to reduce the itching more than anything else, at least for me.

Check with a doc to see if you need to be concerned about
anaphylactic shock.

Yes, it's very possible that you may be allergic to mosquitos. I would see a physician because they may become infected. I would ask a pharmacist about taking something over the counter for an allergic reaction.
