Its not that easy, but here what i think and do!

floss after each meal and brush your teeth and tong afterwards, you're good to go.
Unless, there's a technical internal problem in which you definitely have to see a doctor.

Usually, people don't realize how important flossing is and that is the main reason of bad breath, unless otherwise for the reason stated above.

Have in mind that, if you use mouth wash and planning to kiss your partner, there's a possibility that, you'll have bad breath later on!

The reason may be, recent studies shows that, you'll get that nice, fresh breath at first but, the alcohol will start causing bad breath afterwards!!
I know, its too damn complicated! just make your own choices!

Know the source of your bad breath first. If it is because of poor dental health, try regular brushing and flossing, and scrap your tongue to get rid of bad bacteria. Also, try to avoid having dry mouth, it leads to bad breath as well. There are many causes of bad breath, so if it's not from your mouth, try consulting your dentist about it. http://www.themouthdoctor.com/badbreath/11-badbreathdisease.htm has a list of possible culprits. Hope it helps!

Bad breath isn't just caused by poor dental hygiene, it can be caused by bad tonsils, acid reflux and/or sinus problems. If you take care of your teeth, gums and tongue and still have bad breath, see a doctor for an exam to find out the cause.

A few seeds of cardamom chewed for a brief while will clear your mouth of bad breath. Chew parsley leaves, which are sure to keep your breath fresh. More useful remedies at http://useinfo5.blogspot.com/

-eat apples if the bad breath is coming from your esophagus.

-eat minty candy after meal

-chew gum

-brush your teeth and tongue

-buy a tongue scraper and scrape tongue daily (important because bacteria lives in the tongue surface)

-use mouth wash such as crest prohealth or act (anything that is non-alcoholic because alcohol dries the mouth and cause bad breath).

If over the counter stuff doesn't work, your dentist can prescribe a mouthwash that might help.
