The ecstatic ones are certainly fortunate. There are children who get abused in various ways even during infancy as well as simply starving to death. These abused children may not seem so ecstatic.
If a child is in a good family the family shelters and provides for them so well that the children are in a sort of wonderland in their mind and hearts. I guess the better the family, the more a child is able to retain some of this natural enthusiasm into adult years.
In this wonderland state of mind a child may imagine all kinds of things. This imagination may be in the direction of Good or in the direction of Evil. Hopefully, this imagination is more in the direction of Good. When a child is really imagining into the Good they may commune with higher more intelligent beings that may be invisible to others, especially adults. A child may even communicate with God in some way.

I watch this everyday when my daughter feel to everything she see, even sometime to make her eat I say Oh' look at the crow its black and she eat her food in wonder. Yes everything is new to them but we have this accumulated memory what we call knowledge is the thing which comes in the middle of our ecstasy and makes it agony.
It is really a bliss to watch them and fell like them.
Paper boats
Rainwater pools
Stories of kings and demons by Nanis
Climbing the trees for fruits
Learning the first ride on a cycle
Neighbours shouting on our misdeeds
Tearing our newly stitched clothes over a quarrel
Playing cricket with a stick and rubber ball
Collecting marbles and matchbox cover
Hating girls/ boys
Oh' what a wonder days those are

The child's conciousness takes time to identify itself with body, mind or a false ego has not yet formed .It is ecstatic with its own being for no particular reason. The false values of things are not yet fed into the mind of the child .What it requires is very less it knows only food and sleeping the concious of the child is in the naval which is the connection to the nature .So it is very down to earth and natural. Our innocence is snatched by the nature for good because when we know the value of it and finally get it back it is the pinnacle of ones life .We just have to be available to it it flows in back one fine moment .The animals can never know things like human but they are lucky that they dont have to struggle for some mental things like humans they just are! happy in food, sleep and sex and are body oriented they dont have illusions like humans of prestige and fulfilling a false ego that is why they are blissful.

We can have that joy, too. I have been tasting of it recently, as I explore and grow, and become healed from past hurts. (Prayer helps.)
As adults, many of us become skeptics. Children are not like that. I have taken this for my motto:
"We believe all things, we hope all things."
Let go of the analysing mind, and open your heart. That is how God talks to us.
Children learn (and enjoy) so much because they believe everything and reject nothing. This world is so full of opportunity, new adventure, etc. We only feel old and worn because we reject discovery before we even take a single step on the journey.
We hide our true (and pure) feelings behind a mask of "maturity" or knowingness. We are all fools who need to learn and grow. We are children. There is nothing that should distinguish us from them. They are simply more honest with the world.

We once were like them; ecstatic at almost everything. That was the time when we were genuinely pure at heart. When we didn't know yet how to clothe ourselves with mindful sophistication. When naive enthusiasm was too strong to contain and disguise. When everything seemed heavenly magical. When joys were expressed as they truly were.
What's happening to them? The question must be directed to us instead. What has happened to us? Why have we lost the "child" in us?

Children are close to the "original face". They are conditioned by adult/society and learn how to survive.
I broke up a "mean" fight between a five year old and an eight year old the other day. They expressed a lot of anger!
All does not'appear' happy even with the little ones!

They are still pure and simple. Their mind is not filled with the muck gathered by the senses yet. They see things as they are. and enjoy the beauty. They have nothing to fear, no expectations or bothered about results. We can see reflection of the creator in Children. As we grow up we gather unwanted dust which cover the mirror of its purity and reflection. The "raga, Dhweshas" dictate and change our thinking and we fail to enjoy the simple beauty of creation as it should be, instead we analyse, dissect and try to duplicate and ultimately fail. Which indeed make us unhappy.

One of the great joys in my life the past couple years has been rediscovering that sense of wonder through the eyes of my own children. They don't take anything for granted. My son will still sometimes come running into my room in the morning saying, "Daddy, I wake up!" as if it's the greatest thing in the world. And he's right.
Peace to you,

In the Bible Jesus says that unless you become as a child you cannot enter into the kingdom of Heaven. Children are a great parallel to us. They totally trust in you, their father and mother, they have no worries or troubles, they trust in you with all their being never giving it another thought. We are to believe in Jesus the same way, Jesus said, suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of Heaven. When Jesus died on the cross then arose he forever washed away our sins, now all we have to do is be born again spiritually and become as little children again trusting in Christ for our every need. If you are saved you know what I am talking about, if not think about putting Jesus as a priority in your life, the Bible says that all have sinned, and that the wages of sin is death, once we reach the age where we know right from wrong we have to make a decision,to believe or not, if you would like to believe in Jesus and be saved right now say this simple prayer believing with all your heart, just say Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am a sinner in need of salvation, I believe you died on a cross and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this with a sincere heart you are now born again and a child of the King. If you now are saved it will take a lot of reading your Bible to learn more about how to trust him more but find a good church and ask your Pastor a lot of questions, good luck on your new journey as a born again believer, in Jesus name Amen..

Not to be rude but dogs can also be ecstatic. (excited) over the smallest things. It is due to uncontrolled senses. Children are generally not more advanced than animals until they learn how to control their senses and the process of understanding and loving God and how to be equipoised in happiness and distress. This is not to criticize children or to not like them we should love animals and children too. But it is Good if adults learn to see thing on the transcendental level and in that way we will be esctatic.
