I am nondenominational; I believe in order to be saved you have to believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and that God raised Him from the dead, and that He is now seated at the right hand of God, making intercession for us. I also believe that you have to openly invite Jesus to come and live in your heart and wash away your sins.

If you want to meet the specific critera of a church, be it a United Church of Christ or Unitarian on the one end to the Lutheran or Episcopalian on the other (please forgive any spelling mistakes), you should refer to that organizations website or a religious leader of that denomination. Several of these churches (among others) sponsor their own sites.
To me the test for being a Christian is straight forward. Do you believe in God? If yes, do you believe that Jesus was and is his son? If yes, do you believe that it is through your belief in Jesus and the grace of God (don't confuse the two) that you are saved? Do you use the life of Jesus as an example for living your own life and guiding your daily decisions? If you can answer yes to all these questions, I would consider you a Christian.
I believe these things after much thought, soul searching, and my own readings of several versions of the Bible.
"Saved" Christians are those who meet the above criteria and want God's forgiveness for their sins. It is only when you seek God's forgiveness through Christ can you be forgiven. I also believe that if you don't meet the above criteria (for instance, Jews don't believe in Jesus, Moslems don't believe he was divine, etc.) you can still be saved and be admitted to heaven. The only damned ones are those who renounce God (not Jesus, but God) or athiests.
I attend a UCC Church, but I consider myself a non-demoniational Christian.
Need some help? Check out the link below in making a decision about your own religious or Christian denomination. Whats scary is according to this test I am closer to being Jewish than Christian!

Fundamentalists believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. Catholics add a layer of tradition from the Church to what the Bible says and change the teachings.

Jesus said he was the "way" to God, the "truth" about how to be forgiven, and the source of eternal "life".
