117 mph in a 25 mph school zone, with kids present. At 7:45 a.m. In the Bronx, NY. While being pursued for being slightly intoxicated, and for having a cracked windshield and a noisy muffler. (I scared the kids out of harm's way by honking the horn a whole lot.)

$17.50. Which had to be paid before I could leave the court room. I only had $8.25 on me, so had to call a friend to bring me the rest of it. Unfortunately, since he lived 230 miles away, I had to wait there for almost 5 hours. So have some cash on you when you appear.

Good luck!

To "ā'thē-ĭst" -- You got fined 120 Aussie bucks for going only 30 mph in a 26 mph zone?!? FOUR miles per hour over the limit?? Your cop was a total fool, and you had a hanging judge!

In all of my driving years - I have had only two tickets. The last one being about $150 from another state. What angers me is that they never told me I could have taken a class in my own city to avoid the ticket cost and the penalty on my license. I also believe that the officer could have been more lenient. First of all, he was behind me! Second, I was driving with my cruise control on, and was unfamiliar with the area. While an extensive road lay before us okay to do 70 for miles - all of a sudden - we're in a 55 zone and no signs to warn you. He caught me in the small gap.

I was coming back to Mobile from Dauphin Island,Alabama
one sunday evening, and as usual the 2 lane highway was busy with Boats being towed from Island fishing events. I had a souped up ford and I stomped on the gas. I passed all three vehicles ahead and looked into my rearview and a bubble gum machine was in my face. I just knew I was jail bound for drunk driving so I reached into the ice chest and grabbed a big fish out and rubbed his slime all over me. It was a big old mullet that I had snagged earlier in the day by net! The state trooper was a black guy(I was a polite redneck) I got out of my car and walked up to his, He said "sit in the front seat with me please. He was very polite. He showed me the radar data..77mph in a 55 mph zone ...ooops! So I signed the ticket and he asked me "Have you been drinking?" and I told him one or two while fishing. He said"OK you can go now!" I guess the guy didnt want to have the smell of fish in his spiffy brand new state trooper car. The ticket was $42.00 True story. summer of 1974

Nope, only warnings. I was going about 90 on a 65.

The second warning was about 85 on a 65.

The officers were really cool about it. I just pretended that I thought the limit was 75, because the 75mph zone was only about a mile away.

I was 16 and was doing 68 in a 55. The judge threw it out and made me go to driver improvement class.

50 in a 35....cost me 80 bucks....which is b/s since I was the only one on the road at 3am..theres a state guidline but the judge can follow the guideline or reduce the fine depending if the judge is a nice guy..most are reduced for minor traffic offences.
