Why not? The ink goes into the skin not your eye socket but it would be really painful because of all the nerves in that area and how sensetive eyes are. Although, most tattoo artists in my area wont do face or visible tattoos unless you already have some of the nature. A matter of maintaining a professional look. Artist choice, the shop I use doesn't do visible tattoos unless you already have openly visible tats. Makes sense to me, I still kind of want a wrist tattoo but way down the road.

Yup. In fact, you can tattoo the eye itself (and it has been done often to cover up iris discoloration due to various eye diseases).
Tattoo needles only go about 1/16th of an inch into the skin. You can tattoo pretty much anything safely.

it is if you have the right artist who is properly trained and has a steady hand. many women have eyeliner tattooed on their eyelids as well as eyebrows tattooed on their foreheads. also i have seen a picture of a guy with eyeballs tattooed on his eyelids, i can't imagine how badly that had to hurt. but yes it can be safe.

Yes it's safe as long as you go to a safe clean tattoo palor with the proper degree (or certificate, whatever its labeled). Im pretty sure you need a specific degree to tattoo on faces, also hands and feet.

a friend in college got a tattoo under her eye for eye liner. So apparently it is okay....I wouldn't recommend it though...you would be stuck with black eye liner or whatever else you get for the rest of your life. Might get sick of it.

I don't think that it is that bad lots of people get one just make sure that it is not too close to your eye and you are fine but I saw people with them on the eye lid and they are fine.

permanent make up is done along the eye lash line all of the time. what do you think? it will always depend on the artist on how safe it is.

it's safe, it's just ink struck under the layer of skin. there was a site i found where they tested putting ink ON their eye....3 guys did it, and it wasn't nothing but injecting ink onto the white of their eye, and it turned into a blob of ink. rather stupid

I think you can figure that one out on your own, it's a needle, it's your eye, would you think it was safe, one wrong move and you are blind. Is it worth it.

Well, as you see on Hip Hop artists and men in gangs-- they have tears. So, I think it's okay but not too close.
