I have tried everything to put a background(wallpaper) on my desktop but my computer won't let me. For example, I right click on a .jpg image and I select set as background and my desk top does not change.

u may have a wallpaper program installed that overides the pictures you set you wall paper as. make sure u dont have a desktop program installed. thats my only guess.

Sometimes that happens, all you gotta do is select NONE in your backround settings(right click>Properties>Display) and then set the wallapaper you want. if not, make sure you save the image to your computer, then set as wallapaper, that works for me.

You gotta change it to a bitmap image first. I don't know why that is, but the same happens on my computer.

Desktop backgrounds must be a bitmap format (*.bmp). You can make your desired background a bitmap format by opening it up in Microsoft Paint, then saving it, as this program only saves in the .bmp format.
