Depends on the age.. 14 and 16 or 15 and 17 or 16 and 18 are definitely out... as well as anything under that.

As long as the "girl" is over the legal age of either eighteen or twenty-one, depending on their location; it should not make a difference.
My parents were a couple of years difference in age, and they were married over fifty years.

If you are asking this question, you are probably too young. Why don't you just go out in with a group of friends of both sexes until you feel comfortable dating someone without getting the approval of others.
