Actually, my neighbor does, I'm posting this for her. It has to be free, and the puppy needs to already have his or her shots and be potty trained. And it has to be small, even when it is grown up. Will be taken care of very well!!!
:)
Thank you!! Sorry to be so specific about what kind of puppy.

If someone can not or will not pay an adoption fee, they obviously can not afford to have a pet. What is going to happen to the dog if a medical crises should occur? One visit to the ER can be thousands of dollars. Most likely, the dog will be put to sleep because he was free and it is cheaper than the vet bill. What happens to the dog if it should soil in the house? Will the dog be expected to live in a crate or outdoors all day? Pet ownership is a privledge, not a right and should not be taken lightly.

I doubt you're going to find anything meeting your criteria. Most people, even just looking to find a good home and nothing more, will at least charge some kind of fee to cover the cost of vaccinations and care until the dog/puppy goes to a new home. Not likely you'll find a young puppy already potty trained either.
The problem here is that they want a free and trained dog. That just doesn't come along much and I'd be wary of someone with this criteria in the first place. No dog is ever free, and all dogs have accidents to some degree, potty trained or not.

Well, I wouldn't recommend getting a free puppy. They're usually not bred well and end up having a lot of temperament and health problems. But there are many success stories so you could probably turn just about any kind of dog into a well-mannered pet. You could check at the vet. Sometimes there are posters up of people giving away free puppies in the area, or the vet is trying to find a home for a puppy they have found. Also this website www.dogbreedinfo sometimes has some available pets posted that either need to be re-homed or rescued. I hope this helps.

Sorry, I think your neighbor is wanting too much for nothing!!! If the neighbor has no $$ to even get the puppy shots how in the world are they going to provide for the dog!!!!
There are no dogs at the Humane Society or on petfinder for free!!!

If the person want's a free dog with all the extras already taken care of, do they have the money to actually FEED it and get it general vet care too?
No animal is 'free', they all end up costing something. Part of being a responsible owner is that you don't always look for the freebies because you know that they aren't.

I'd question how well taken care of this dog would be when the owner doesn't want to pay for the puppy, the shots, or take time to housebreak it. This person shouldn't get a dog or any pet at this time.

Good luck with that one.
It sounds like your neighbor doesn't have the time for a puppy, and apparently doesn't want to pay for routine medical care. What if an emergency pops up? Love doesn't heal everything.

Try a dog shelter. That is the only way you will get a free dog unless someone gives one to you. But usally, at a shelter they have some dogs who need good homes. They have many different types and sizes, save a dog. Go to the shelter. (Pound)
