My boyfriend and I have been dating for 10 months and now are going to different schools. Things are going great except for the fact that we can only see each other on the weekends. Therefore, I really miss him. We talk on the phone about every other night.

I've found very recently that my feelings have kind of changed. I went to his house on Saturday night, and he kind of felt like more of my best guy friend than boyfriend. It felt really weird at first. But later on, he felt more like a boyfriend, but still not exactly. Then we went to the lake on Sunday, and he felt like a boyfriend the whole time. It was never like this when we saw each other almost every day at school. I don't like him feeling like only a good friend cause it feels wrong being close.

My thinking is that since I don't see him that often, my feelings about him change in my mind or something or other. What can I do to change this? I really need help. I want him to feel like my boyfriend all the time.

It's actually not awkward when we see each other, we've pretty much gotten over that, but it's just that my mind sees him as a best friend, annoyingly enough.

Of course your feelings will change over time. Especially with time apart. Feel lucky you get to see him on the weekends. If you are concerned about your relationship ending b/c of this then you have a few things to consider. What is more important...school or him..the answer should be your education. But if you don't want things to change maybe consider transferring schools or trying to make extra time during the week? Why don't you talk to him about this and see what he thinks. Maybe he is feeling the same. there will always be a little awkwardness when you haven't seen each other for a while

walls usually start building up. too much time apart is not very good. the closeness seems to decay.
