I posted this question earlier and the answers I got were very thought provoking. I want to hear more answers though. Please tell me what you think....

I am a Christian (Church of Christ) and I have struggled with this question for years. Each religion (Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, etc) think that their religion is the "correct" religion. Do they think that everyone else is going to hell if they don't share in their beliefs? I mean, I try to follow what the Bible says to a T and when I slip up, I ask for forgiveness. But these other religions are trying to do the same thing. Does this mean that they are going to hell in the end because they are not sharing my same beliefs? I would like to think that if we all try to do our best we will share a home in Heaven. What do you think?

God is right!

Now that you know "who" is right, determine what is right, then you can find the answers you need because you will have a standard to compare to!

Ultimately, the answer to "Who is right" is God is right!

The answer to "What is right" is God's Word is right!

Now that you know what is right, you need to compare the things taught by men against that standard! If a doctrine agrees with the Bible, accept it! If a doctrine does not agree with the Bible, then reject that doctrine! "We ought to obey God rather than men!" (Acts 5:29)

Notice Acts 17:11, "Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so."

I believe religion consist of four core things:

** ** Beliefs about morality
** ** Beliefs about where the universe came from
** ** Beliefs in a god or gods
** ** Beliefs about the after-life

I also believe that these things are not necessarily related to each other. If someone tries to convince you they are, they may have an agenda.

Protestants in the United States (Baptist, Church of Christ, Methodist, Mormons, Pentecostals, etc.) often believe that their religion is superior to others. This belief was popularized about 125 years ago with the Jacobian revisions of the King James Bible that modified a verse in the book of Matthew stating that the only way to "get to the Father" is "through me". Of course Heaven is quite a valuable commodity to have so many religious leaders jumped on this band wagon.
It worked, look on salary.com to see exactly how well preachers get paid these days.

I believe people that subscribe to a correctness of a religion are probably the people like the Pharisees and Sadducees of Jesus' day. Be ware of anyone who does anything in God's name. Be ware of anyone who feels that their belief system is superior to someone else's.

I think God is leading all people who truly seek Him into His truth.

Some people go to church because they "are supposed to" yet do not have a personal relationship with God. I don't think there is any chance these people will be in heaven. Still, God is seeking them out so there is always a chance they will "discover" Him.

There are some who think others will go to hell if they don't believe like they do. I've met Baptists like that. I'm not saying all Baptists are like that, only the few I've met.

I believe that when the Bible was kept from the people during the Dark Ages error came into the church. When the Bible was given back to the people through Tyndale, Luther & so many others people started seeing the errors that the Catholic Church had made. That has led to the founding of many denominations as people see the falsehood and seek to correct it.

A great read on why there are so many denominations: The Great Controvery by E.G. White

I don't think it has to do with us trying to do our best. Our best will never be good enough. I believe it has to do with linking up our humanity with Christ's divinity as He linked up His divinity with our humanity. Then, we will truly do the will of Our Father as Jesus prayed in John 17.

"Sanctify them with the truth, Thy Word is truth."

Well this is a very hard question to answer, but I would have to say that there really is no exact answer anyone can really prove. But I think that you should definetly stick to christanity and spread others. Trust in God to help you. I think all the other religions come from the whole tower of babble incident ( you know what that is?) so help others come to christanity and always ask forgiveness it dosent matter how good or bad you are just as long as you really feel bad you did it and want to be forgiven.

All you can do is study the Bible and do the best you can. When you slip you ask for forgiveness. No one is perfect we all mess up.

I have always had a hard time understanding the differences between the denominations. This is why I chose a nondenominational Church.

It's not for us to say. I am serious about Christianity and will tell everyone I know if I think they are in error or doing what I think is being a christian. Denominations are not the issue- There are no denominations in the hereafter- Only obedience to Jesus Christ.

Grace(not law) unto you, and Peace(not division),
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Being right, to make others wrong, is deadly wrong.
It's a blame game that inducts all in a hall of shame.
For the link search 'blame game hall of shame'

You all need to look up, "higher than the heavens",
where "Christ" is "seated", "above" such law vs law,
rather than "standing" up for what's right with "Jesus",
which is only right "on high", of high/higher law/grace.
Pst: wickedness is what happens in high places: Eph 6.
For link search 'higher than the heavens: above up-right'

Christ: is seated right in heaven: higher than the heavens.
Jesus: is standing right on high: in plural divided heavens.
"Eternal salvation" is notably "through Jesus --> Christ".
The salvation in Jesus is temporal: saved + destroyed.
Salvation in Christ is eternal: saved(only) by grace(only).
Link: search 'Christ Jesus or Jesus Christ: which is witch'

Christ: is the Saviour of the world: John 4:42; 1John 4:18
Jesus: is only Saviour of Israel, of Jacob-->Israel. Selah.
Link: search 'global reconciliation'

It may interest you to know charity never faileth,
is notably put on above forgiving one another,
which is an endless game of slip ups via law,
is both good and evil, also evil concupiscence.
Link: search 'charity never faileth'

It may shock you to learn you're not a Christ-ian,
but an X-ian and/or a Jesus-ian, and still carnal,
who believe they have eternal life in CJ... NOT!
Life in CJ is the life of life + death = a dead end.
CJ is the reverse of JC: the only foundation laid.
CJ is not JC. J-->C does not have a dead end.

Jesus: died by the law: cursed EVERY ONE: Gal 3.
Christ: died to the law: is thereby "alive" unto God
If you don't die to the law, then you'll die by the law.

i think none of these churches/denominations are right, they teach their versions of what they think God is saying to suite their needs and omit what they see fit, and it's a shame. what i won't say is that all of them are going to hell, for the Lord says judge not that ye be not judged. all i can do is follow the bible and do what the Lord has instructed.

No religions are correct as God does not exist - I am an atheist. An afterlife would be nice, but there just isn't one if you think about it logically, practically and scientifically.

No religious belief has any more evidence than another. All are speculations by man to explain what he believes is beyond the natural world. Therefore, it is impossible to conclude which is "right," when unlimited possibilities exist - none of which provide any evidence. It is most likely that none are correct - either because the supernatural does not exist, or because we have just not yet perceived the correct supernatural world.
