Hmmmmmmmmmmm.... Interesting way to start a conversation here on R&S....

Yes, dear one - I grew up on it here in Texas.
It is ok... it's essentially boiled popcorn.
I consider it kind of bland... but it is a good source of Carbohydrates for energy and is quite filling.

Do you like it hon?
Peace.

I've eaten hominy as a child. I never thought it had much taste at all. Of course, we always had it from a can. I don't go out of my way to get any, that's way I can only talk about it as a kid would.

I love hominy. It's the only thing I picked up living in Florida that I found enjoyable.

I love hominy. I like to just buy it in cans and heat it over the stove with a little butter, salt, and pepper. Yummy!

LOVE hominy!!! One of my passions in life.

Menudo, pesole, nix tamal. Or just hominy with butter, salt and pepper! Toss in a little pork sausage, and man! you're eating high!

My family is from Arkansas and it was a staple on my grandmother's table. It was also the only food she ever cooked that I tried only once and refused to touch again.

Yes, and no. I heard it described as the filet mignon of corn, or something. Definitely didn't taste like filet to me.
