Well, suicide is not an unforgivable sin, but it is murder. God will judge the hearts of everybody when the time comes, so there's no way to know for sure ahead of time where we'll end up. Also, the wages of sin is death. Since suicide is death, any sins would be forgiven at that point. It's confusing, so just don't do it. This is as simple an explanation as I can offer.

For a long time, it was believed that because suicide is killing a person , it is a sin and could possibly send the person to Hell.

We now have a better understanding of psychology and know that people who commit suicide are usually not in their right mind or are in a sad states.
God will judge each individual case and as always show his mercy and wisdom.

No, since there is no heaven.

As a thought experiment, I would have to say that probably yes. Why? Many, perhaps most, people who commit suicide are mentally ill, and therefore not in full control of their actions. The entire premise of Christianity (at least as I was taught) is that we have free will to execute, and that you will be judged on your actions taken of your free will. If a mental disease reduces your ability to make rational choices, (i.e. destroying your free will) then you cannot be judged based on those choices.

Depends on how you've lived your life. It is now recognized that suicide is a mental disorder....for whatever reason, a person could not see his/her way out of their pain which, no doubt, wass unbearably enormous and without hope by the time they commit the ultimate act of violence against the self.

I find it funny "religious" or believes of God would think one would not. For someone to commit suicide they must be in horrible pain, and God or whoever you believe in must know your pain and your reason. I believe you still go to heaven, doesn't God forgive all, isn't that what he did for all of us? Yet we are the most judgemental and least forgiving people to say one would not.

God alone knows. He judges the soul and only He knows the state of that person's soul right before death occurred.

St. Paul wrote "It is the Lord who judges" (1 Cor. 4:4).

Strictly speaking, suicide is a mortal sin that condemns a soul to Hell. However, depending on how the person dies, or how much time they have, if true contrition was acheived for this sin right before death then it's possible they might not go to Hell.

Again, we leave it up to God.

IMO, those who kill themselves because they are severely depressed would probably not go to Heaven/Summerland/Nirvana, instead Godd would send them back to earth to be reincarnated so they can have a second chance to try and live a better life than the one that made them depressed.

No. But you then get the chance to overcome the temptation that would have suicide seem to be a power to do good things, when in reality it is just another sin.
