No, it's not.

With the growth in human populations, natural predators are a lot more scarce than they used to be. So most animals have populations that are too large and out of control, deer being just one. You may think that deer populations that are too big are no big deal, however the deer do not have enough grazing land and they starve, which is pitiful and even more concern to humans is that they are responsible for more death of people on US highways than any animal.

99% of hunters would never, ever approve of any animal being hunted to extinction. Hunters are the largest and most active and most generous group to conservation efforts. We don't want to see more wild land populated and we want nice, healthy animal populations so that we can hunt them for many years to come.

Another definition of Fun I believe is enjoyment.* I enjoy Hunting and watching the Beagle Dogs work to get up the rabbits, and listening to them when they are trailing them.* If Hunting is not Fun or Enjoyable {Why Hunt at all?}.* It is not the killing of the animal that brings about the Fun or enjoyment, but harvesting it for the food it provides for the table is greatly appreciated by the majority of Hunters and Sportsman.* NO it is not wrong to Hunt for FUN, because if you are not having Fun {What are you doing?*}*I also hunt Whitetail Deer, Grouse, Pheasant, Crows, Groundhogs, Woodcock and Squirrel.* Does doing that make someone an EVIL PERSON?* You have got to be KIDDING.*Wildlife is a renewable resource and should be harvested by those who appreciate and revere it for its contribution to MAN.*

I have hunted for 10 years and it has never been for just the food. I enjoy going out and sitting in the woods and listening to the other animals and when it's time to hunt the game I'm hunting, I do. Alot of people do it for enjoyment, not just for food.

Maybe FUN is just a bad choice of words that a lot of people will find problems with that are just plain ignorant and have no knowledge of nature and how it works. I don't think that ANY Hunter doesn't enjoy the hunt to some degree. To get out in the fresh country air, No TV, no cell phones,no traffic congestion or hours of commuting in exhaust filled air. Any body that doesn't need this kind of occasional break is just lying to themselves. Excitement and experience is a part of it too, and you can't have one without the other.
I don't worry about what others think about why I hunt, their opinions don't concern me. They are ignored until they directly interfere with my rights to hunt or possess firearms, then I will not sit by idly and not react. I just make it a point to leave the woods as I found it or in some cases a little better by picking up some trash on my way out........

It is not wrong to hunt for fun, but it is wrong to kill something that someone would like to have to eat and waste it. If you hunt for fun make sure someone gets the meat.

there is no problem with hunting for fun because most will eat what they kill. i think it is wrong to kill for fun. it give one the wrong idea about the outdoors.i know people do it all the time but i am agauinst shooting prarie dogs for target practice.it would get no satisfaction just shooting something for the sake of a target.it is hard enough to get the right message across to people about guns.we have to constantly fight for our right just to keep out guns. we all need to use better judgement in what we do. someone else may see it and be offended. that is just life. but with guns the wrong message can hurt out right to own and shoot guns.if i just have to shoot something i will shoot at cans or other like targets.to hunt means to harvest a animal for food.---retired texas deputy sheriff---

I don't think so. I love to hunt prairie dog, and after one has been shot there is nothing left. I also hunt coyote year round, and they do not taste very good, but if left unkilled they eat our chickens and maim/kill our horses, but that's not to say I don't enjoy it. But I also hunt deer, elk, turkey and sometimes bear and always eat all the meat of my kill. But I personally have no problem with hunting game for sport if there is no good meat to eat from the animal to waste, as long as it is done humanely.

First of all you should never hunt for sport. And what you kill you should eat. If you want experience the go to a shooting range. why kill animals and waste them. Its just WRONG. Growing up in a hunting family and hunting myself i was always told to shoot only what we eat. The animals have a purpose in life just as we do. they may be under us as in the food chain but that don't mean they aren't important as well. they are under us because we do eat them. Some people hunt cause that is what they can afford. Look back on your ancestors they didn't hunt for sport they hunted for food. and they used all of the animal every last bit. To even ask such a question is crazy.
