Your earnings are reported to Social Security by both your employer and when your file your tax returns with the IRS. Each year, about 3 months before your birthday, you should receive an earnings statement.

This will show all of your earnings from every job. If there is a discrepancy, you can call 1-800-772-1213 to start the process of having it corrected. It's very important that your earnings record be correct as this will be what your benefits are based on when you retire or if you become disabled.

never heard of a certified ss repot -- but if you contact ss they will send you a copy of year by year paid in and a est of what your retirement will be!!!
