Most assuredly! People allow temptations to rule their lives every day. The materialistic life that we lead makes it near impossible to NOT be ruled by temptation. Temptation in itself can be subjective, and it is most definitely an individualized experience.

They do rule us ... Me as a prime example. Not going into details but those temptations are there and they rule me for sure.

Sure we can allow our temptations to rule us...

The question is, what is your motive?

Temptation usually carries a negative connotation, so I don't usually use that term, however...

It is possible to be tempted toward that which is beneficial and not tempted toward things that are not beneficial. Some people have a harder time then others, changing that which they are tempted toward, but it is not impossible.

Shalom...

You can, but it's probably not a good idea!

I think by nature we're beings that are driven by feelings, and when something feels good, we tend to go after it.

That's not necessarily bad, but when we get to a point where those temptations and good feelings are ruling our lives, it becomes a problem.

Life is so much more than getting your fix of feeling good, no matter how you're getting it.

He is great who is a master of himself. Let our temptations and habits not rule but let them be ruled by us.

Yes, we can... but I think a better question is "should" we allow them to rule us. In that, I would have to say no... nothing should rule over us like that.

Sure, as long as they can't hurt ourselves or others. But acting on harmful temptations leads many to prison, sickness, insanity and death. Namaste to you.

Yes. The more we give in to them, the more powerful and habitual they are in our lives.
