Well, the court system does not take kindly to any excuse for missing a court date. So, more than likely, since you failed to show, you are considered quilty in the eyes of the court. Unless, you were serious ill and hospitalized, or have a concrete reason, you will be fined. Why didn't you just show up when you were due to be in court ?? Is there any special reason ?? You can try to present a legitimate reason but, have documentation to back up such a reason. I hope that this helps and Good Luck.

Hmmm...lying to a judge....yeah you'll turn out ok. I wouldn't even bother with an excuse. Just tell the judge you had better things to do that day. Oh, and when they ask you to remove your hat, it's totally voluntary. It's actually better if you don't remove your hat. It lets the judge know who's actually in charge. And one more thing, if you have an iPod, wear it all during the court proceeding. Oh yeah, and make sure your pants are really low. That shows the judge how tough you are and he's more than likely going to be intimidated by you.

The truth is best in this situation. I've seen a judge berate someone for missing a court date, and giving a bad excuse. Unless you were in the hospital, and have proof, there is no excuse.

Try this one on for size ---
there IS no excuse !!
Now, your looking at an "enhanced" problem
the "failure to appear" -- which can easily match the penalty for the original charge -- and it will definitely cause the penalty FOR the original charge to be held to the maximum if you have the very probable unlucky stroke of getting a hardnosed judge !!
Summons to appear are NOT party invites that you can "pick and choose" whether or not you want to go !! They are LEGAL documents and can not be ignored --- this is something that you are about to learn in terms that you won't even HAVE to guess about !!!!

There is no good excuse. You should have went. Be an adult!! And it will show the court that you dont take it serious b/c you didnt call and try to get your court date changed and you probably dont have a good chance of getting it dropped now.

Don't worry about an excuse. The court will supply you with several excuses as to why your license is suspended, you were found guilty, and now owe $$$, or there is now a warrant for your arrest.

THE BEST ANSWER IS THE TRUTH YOU FORGOT ABOUT THE COURT DATE AND SEE THE COURT TOMORROW-FAILURE TO SHOW UP IN ANY STATE IS A CONTEMPT OF COURT BUT IF YOU GO FORWARD AND SAY YOU FORGOT THE DATE AND TURN YOURSELF IN THE COURT KNOWS THAT YOU ARE ASKING FOR A FAIR HEARING AND FORGETTING IS A VIABLE EXCUSE-AT LEAST IT WILL GET RID OF THE CONTEMPT OF COURT AND A FAILURE TO APPEAR CITATION

It's the court Hon, they've heard them alll. Just call them up tomorrow and reset for a new date. It's simply, just tell them the truth that you spaced it. They understand that more than: I was on my way here and a dog ran out in front of me limping on one leg and I took him to the vet and forgot al about my appointment. Stick with the truth, it works much better. Best of luck. Hugs : )
