That fight was the bomb. I thought it was over when Meza went down but then he got up and Garza went down like he got hit with a bat. It was shocking. Meza went on to medicority and Garza was never the same. What a night.

I remember that fight. I was rooting for Garza to pull it out, but Meza did him in. Unfortunately, Garza never fought Wilfredo Gomez, that would've been a good one.

yes it was. i always thought the fans were shortchange by promoter don king for not making a fight between wilfredo gomez and garza in 1983. this would have been called "battle of the G-boys!
