How long does it stay in your body and where does it travel to? Can it end up in a place where it will hang out and do something or does it move along with the rest of your ingested substances?

Well, it really depends on how much mercury. It also depends on how well your body would handle mercury, some excrete mercury better than others. Mercury is also in tooth fillings, vaccines and shots. What merucry does is attach itself to soft tissues and organs. Over time this mercury accumualtes and can cause autoimmune disorders, psychological problems, allergies, asthma, MS, and a host of other things.

The best way to get mercury out of your system is to chelate. Don't do it intavenously, but through oral supplements. DMSA is a good one, but does not remove mercury from the brain. That's why you add in ALA, it will remove from the brain. If your interested, read up on Andrew Cutler, and there is also an adult chelation board on yahoo here.

Not exactly sure what happens, although you won't die. Mercury is poisonous in it's gaseous form. For many years mercury was prescribed by doctors for upset stomachs and I believe it is still used on rare occasions outside the U.S. Although I don't think anyone would really recommend trying it nowadays.
