So, this is a little embarressing, but none of you know who I am anyways so I'll ask it. For the past few months I've been having some stool trouble, bloody to be exact. Its kinda on again off again. It happens, then it doesn't happen for a couple weeks, then it does, etc. I looked up the symptoms of colon cancer and obviously bloody stools is one of them, but so is fatigue and abdominal pain. I don't know if I get fatigued, but I'm often tired(then again, I'm 16 and us teenagers are tired often) and I don't know about the abdominal pain. I don't know if this is a concious thing because I heard about stomach ulcers or what.

I've told my friend about it, and he said it happened to him too and it will eventually go away.

The blood is on the stool and I don't know what else to add.

no matter what your teenage friends will tell you about "if you ignore it, it will go away" ... it doesnt - it never does... especially blood in the stool - like someone on here already said, it can be as simple as a hemmoroid and as bad as cancer - and everything in between... it could be ulcers, it could be an intestinal infection, it could be alot of things - please tell someone asap that can take you to a doctor to get checked out

I know it's embarrassing, but you need to see a doctor right away. Tell a parent or trusted adult if you need support.

There are lots of reasons why this could be happening, and lots of them are treatable and nothing to panic about.

Your friend has given you some bad advice.

Good luck.

At your age it is unlikely you have colon cancer but anything is possible of course. Anytime you see unexplained blood you MUST see a doctor as soon as possible. There are simple tests that will pinpoint your problem. It could be something simple but you CANNOT ignore this problem.

I doubt it would be colon cancer at your age, but idk. Also, is the blood bright red or very dark? Where is the abdominal pain if you have it? You really need to go to a a doctor who will refer you to a GI doc.
