Why does Norton keep telling me (via pop-up) that a recent attempt to attack my computer was blocked? When I check the details of this notification it shows that the pc doing the attacking is MY pc! How do I get this to stop?

You have a program (good or bad) running on your computer that you have told Norton Firewall to block. It's trying to send something out.

You need to figure out what it is. If it's spyware or a virus (which is probably doubtful) then get rid of it. If it's a good guy, take it off the "blocked" list.

I believe that it (NORTON) thinks the netbios commands from your other comp are attacking it. cntc tech support. There is a way to fix it but I don't remember. Stopped using Norton, Tech support sucks and it is to bulky.
