At the moment I have a valley bulldog, he isn't that big. But I really want to get a second dog (a chihuahua). My bulldog is well trained, and a rough or vicious dog. I know that chihuahuas are very fragile dogs. But I see pictures of chihuahuas with larger breed dogs all the time, and even on breeders websites.

Do you think it would be okay to have a valley bulldog, and a chihuahua??

Please no dumb answers, I rather not waste my time reading them. Thanks.

A Valley Bulldog orginates in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.

It is a mix between a boxer and english bulldog. Although they are considered purebred.

No he is not vicious, or rough. He lazy and gentle. He gets along VERY well with my cat.

Oh, and too the guy below. NO!!! I would never keep my dog outside. He is a 1200.00 dog, and in my area many people steal valley bulldogs because its a rare breed. Plus, I think that is cruel. I'm not keeping him in the house for 2 years, and then getting another dog, and then just booting him outside.

it is your decision. I am not sure they will get along. Maybe you could keep the bulldog outside. The chihuahua can not stay outside because of the cold or the heat. They are strictly inside dogs! The bulldog could manage outside.I think if i were you i might put the bulldog outside and the chihuahua inside. Of course it is your decision. If i were you, i would consult with a bulldog breeder AND a chihuahua breeder. You should ask them if the two dogs would get along. I hope this helps!

You said your bulldog is "well trained, and a rough or vicious dog." Do you mean that your bulldog IS vicious? If so, then obviously you should not get a chihuahua.

it depends on teh dogs but I am a chihuahua breeder and I have had boxers and I now have an old english bulldog and they all get along fine.
But not knowing your dog and make sure they are introduced slowly and correctly you should be fine.

trust me, this may seem dumb, but its not, go to your backyard and let him go in front of a squirrel, if he chases it, it's not a good, idea. I'M SERIOUS, IT WORKS. if your getting a older dog then take the puppy with u to the humane society, but if your getting a younger dog then take the squirrel test.
