The Romans.

Pilate was the Roman Governor. He has total control and authority and did not have to have "permission" from the Jews to do anything.

Pilate had two other guys crucified that day. Notice nothing was written at all about the Jews having anything to do with it? Jesus was just one of three, all under the control of Rome.

Jesus was crucified. That was a standard Roman form of execution for those who rebelled against Rome. Jews never used that form of execution.

Had Jesus been executed by the Jews, he would have been stoned to death and you would be wearing a cute little rock around you neck instead of a Roman Cross.

Paul wanted to "sell" his new faith to the Romans. How far would he have gotten if he told them THEY were the ones that killed the Messiah? His new faith sold better when he stuck the blame on the Jews. This tactic is called "scapegoating" and it predates even the Romans.

Romans did it.

The Romans.

They were the only ones who used crucifixion. In addition, they hated the Jews and they felt threatened especially by Jesus, because he was charismatic and people took notice of him.

As for this absurd idea that the Jews 'asked' the Romans to kill Jesus - get real! The Romans did not listen to the Jews on anything!

Ok man, you want the truth? I'll give you the truth STRAIGHT from all of the Jewish history books: The Romans, with there own hands, killed jesus. The Jews, wanting him dead so that he would cause no more trouble to the Jews, gave away his position to the Romans, and therefor it is their fault that he was crusified. So basically, Romans killed him, Jews' fault.

You guys really do owe us though...if it weren't for jesus dying like that then Christianity wouldn't be what it is today, and yall would still be worshiping idles like they used to...=)

The Romans crucified Jesus after the Pharisees demanded it, but both the Romans and the Pharisees were in effect acting out roles ordained for them by Jesus Himself and cannot justly be blamed for His death in the usual sense.

If Jesus had not been crucified, no matter by whom, God's plan would have been subverted.

Hello,

The Romans and the Jews, particularly the Sanhedrin. The Jews considered him a political threat and had him charged with blasphemy and treason; the Romans were the hatchet men to carried out the execution. Don't forget Pilate was ready to acquit Jesus but he was under tremendous political pressure from Rome and could ill afford an uprising or riot so he chickened out and had him put to death.

During the time of Herod the Great, Judea had more autonomy and could carry out executions of their own Jewish people. After his death there were problems, things changed and only the Roman governor in that district could order an execution.

It was the romans that nailed HIM to the cross, but it was also Jews that helped make the decision to do so....in actuality though, the crucifiction of Christ was carried out by God Himself, to show how much HE loves and adores us all...that HE sent HIS ONLY Son to die on the cross to pay the price for the sins of the entire world!

The Romans carried out the actual crucifixion. Crucifixion was a Roman form of capital punishment at the time.

Some Jewish leaders turned him over to the Romans; the Romans crucified him (as they did many others).

Many Christians have blamed "the Jews" for killing Christ; it was a collaborative deal.

The only answer we can get is from the bible, but in all reality there is no real factual evidence of who or what killed Jesus, absolutely everything we are told about Jesus is here say hundreds of years after the fact, and as a catholic I have questioned that book for the last 50 years and still do not have an answer, and probably never will. peace.

According to The Bible it was the Jewish leaders that brought Christ before Potius Pilate (Roman governor) seeking the death penalty because their Jewish Law would not allow a person put to death during the Passover.
But to accurately answer your question; Roman soldiers physically nailed him up, Jewish leaders demanded it, Satan wanted it, The LORD ordainded it.
So truly, in the end, it was God that crucified Jesus for our transgressions.
