I had this pimple on my chin for a few days, and then I kind of tried to pop it (because I didnt' want to go to school with a pimple) and then, a REALLY dark purple-ish ring-like thing formed around it. I usually get these but I don't know what it is. Can you guys tell me some of your ideas and how to get rid of it? [Oh...and can you tell me if I should put anymedication [[and what kind] on the pimple if it starts to water a lot and if putting on cover up on the pimple safe? ]

OK - firstly, ice on a pimple will reduce the inflammation so you can cover it with makeup.

If it's looking really gross, gently pierce it with a sterile needle, and gently press to release the pressure. Pop it and you'll just get a hole which will turn into a scab which is even harder to disguise.

It sounds like you've messed with it and treated it roughly which has caused a bruise.

There's nothing much you can do now except wait. Tea tree oil dabbed on it will help the healing.

What probably has happened is that you have bruised the area directly around the pimple due to squeezing too hard. This usually happens more to people that have sensitive skin. It isn't anything to worry about, it should disappear in a couple of days. As for getting rid of your pimple, try some over the counter medicated acne cream. Don't splurge and buy the expensive kind, the off brand Equate will work just fine, it has the same amount of medication as the pricier stuff.

if u have a pimple and u start touching it and messing around with it it can make that dark purple ring around. You should tell someone who has experience how to pop it in the right way. To get any medications you should talk to a doctor.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

Stop playing around with your pimples to begin with.

I would hate to tell you something bad. But it sounds like that is something besides being a pimple. I would go to the doctor for that.

you broke the blood vessles around it trying to pop it most likely you'l;l have to now wait it out. YES dont anic its normal. its like a bruise. if you did pop it the prupleish will go away if not try drying it out with alcohol or hot compress to draw it to a head and pop that sucker.

too serious - needs medical attention.

make an appointment with your general physician. or better yet depending on your benefits go to a dermatologist. a dermatologist can review the mole for immediate removal or medication. moles can be cancerous. any change in size, color or shape is serious.

good luck.

Go to the doctor but it could be impetigo. Bacitracin won't hurt.
