This is why we should write our problems, and deliver our griefs to those who give them to us.

Messages are more likely than violence to solve an issue.

Martin Luther King
Nelson Mandela
Gandhi

None of them gained power through war. All of them used words.

Can I have thoughts on this?

lol. The power of words, eh?

One typo, and I get a completely different message across, causing mass hysteria.

If I'd slipped with asword instead of a word, I don't think the effect would involve so many people.

LMAO, ROFL!!!!!!

Okay, I know you're not THAT kind of bunny rabbit. But if the typo wasn't funny enough, it opened up a laugh-fest of answers!

There's got to be a joke about "the pubic response" to this question, but I think I'll just keep laughing and leave it at that. Perhaps this proves that laugher is the best approach to solving problems, and we just need to take everyone at the UN down to a good comedy club!

LOL!

In other words, "Make love, not war"?

Seriously, the pen is the tool of ideas. The sword is the tool of power. But both sides of a war can use either. There are times when words are not enough and it is the rebellious sword that gives the oppressed enough hope to listen. The pen can also be used to deceive and bewilder, or to defend the indefensible. And sometimes no one at all is listening. I think what is meant is the wonder that the pen has the power it does at all.

Which is mightier? It may depend on how far away you are standing.

You are right, however, there are times when reason doesn't work.

If you take a trip to North Korea, you will find that there is an great lack of reason in the country because its leader has systematically cut down education in order to keep power.

Sometimes words do fail, and the only response is physical defense. If you have ever been to a High School party or College Frat party, you have witnessed this time and time again.

That doesn't mean that aggression is the best answer however, because, thought and philosophy and education are much better solutions.

Well... the penis is much mightier than the sword due that the penis helps give life while the sword can only take it away. Even if it is a typo, it is still an interesting question.

Both the pen and the penis are mightier than a sword.

Violence is momentary; ideas are immortal.

Also a sword cannot help populate the earth.

Sometimes a pen is sharper than the sharpest sword. Think about the writers and journalist who are usually censored and deported from their countries when there's a coup d'État and you'll contemplate the power of the pen in all its glory.

Of course, people fear the penis being mention and especially being seen. You can cause far more damage walking around with a penis sticking out then cutting down people with a sword.

I like penis. So are you saying I should write my grief to my fiance? hehe

I prefer the peaceful approach. I do know that sometimes war is necessary. I guess I'm saying it's a necessary evil some times.

sorry, I cannot stop laughing.
It is so funny that that was an unintentional typo.

Brilliant! Particulalry the irony of your question being about words & writing.

That said, I think that talking / writing should always come before violence. Violence is rarely, if ever the right solution.
