No, you dont need your passport to go to Texas from Chicago. You can use your school ID (as long as it has a photo of you and your full name) but dont use it after you get your drivers license or state ID.

No, you do not need a passport. A passport is only used when you're going outside the United States. You should however, carry some picture ID with you to show for the flight up there and the return flight.

Sounds like you'll have fun. Never been to Chicago myself.

You never have to have a passport to go from Chicago to Texas but if you are flying alone you certainly need an official form of identification which includes your picture on it such as a driver's license. A passport is acceptable for this purpose but is not 'required' if you have another form of ID available. By official I mean governmant issued identification - a school ID would not be acceptable.

You don't need a passport but you certainly need to stay in school if you think you need one for Texas! Also, why do you want to go w/o parents' permission? Sounds like you need to work out things with them. Running away never solves everything...your problems follow you there!

You don't need a passport, but I think airlines let kids 15+ go by themselves - without someone to pick them up/drop them off at the airport.

The guy above me is wrong. All people 18+ going domestic need a form of ID

NO. Texas is still part of the US. The airlines will need some form of ID to get your ticket. After a certain age you don't need to have an escort on the plane to watch over you and make sure you get to your final destination

You don't need any ID to fly domestic if you are under 18!!!
I work for the Airlines.

You don't need approval from parents unless you are under 12.

EVERYONE ABOVE ME IS WRONG! DON'T LISTEN TO THEM!

Also, if you are over 18 you don't need an ID either, it will just be a tougher security screening process when you go through.

If you don't believe me call 1800UNITED1, or go to your local airport and they will tell you the same thing I did.

Good luck!
