Last night I had a very unusual dream, and it was quite frightening for me during the dream, and even now, looking back at it. I can't help but think that this dream might symbolize something.

From what I remember, something terrible happened to me where my face and head was covered in blood. I was rushed to the hospital where I was going to undergo head/brain surgery. It was very scary for me. I remember almost every little detail, up to the point where they put a mask over my nose and mouth to sedate me and put me asleep for the surgery.

During the dream, I remember waiting in the waiting room and seeing my friends from high school. I wasn't able to interact with them, it was like they were all there to see me. Almost like they were at a funeral for me. I remember a very special person there, a girl I had cared about deeply. But it was weird because me and her no longer talk..

The dream never went into the actual surgery, it cut out right after the mask was put on me.

Could this dream mean anything? or maybe I'm getting paranoid and maybe it all doesn't mean anything at all.

I've never had a dream like this before where something like this has happened to me. I'm actually still quite frightened thinking back on it.

Sometimes our dreams reflect things in our day to day life, sometimes they are just nonsense, blowing off steam. Sometimes we reach for deeper levels, and sift through previous experiences, seeking knowledge or meaning from the past. In this dream you are "having your head examined", so to speak, you are the doctor, as well as the patient, analyzing the past to draw whatever you will from it....as your friends were there to "see" you, so you were there to "see " them, as you were sifting through memories, studying them, asimiliating whatever you learned from your experiences and memories of them, attaining wisdom or understanding from some of these memories, and in some of the memories maybe even cutting out things which are uneeded, or healing things that were hurtful to you....

When interpreting a dream, you need to take into consideration what was going on in your life when you had the dream. Dreams are usually a reflection of our subconscious mind. Dreaming about being in a hospital represents the need for healing, it could be either physical or emotional. Since in you dream you had a brain injury, it's probably psychological. You might be going through a stressful time in your life. The fact that your friends were there might be a sign that you need to reach out to someone you love and trust for help.
