Ok, maybe not a father/daughter dance...but is it a good wedding song in general?

I thnk if it's a song that has meaning for you and/or your father, then you could do it. If it doesn't, then it might be a good idea to find something that does have meaning to you and him.

For my money, the lyrics seem a little...romantic for a father/daughter dance. The singer does seem to be expressing a great deal of longing for the tiny dancer.

Then again, back when my beloved's band used to play a lot of weddings, people kept requesting Peaceful Easy Feeling by The Eagles as a first dance and never seemed to notice it was about breaking up.

Chances are nobody would have quite the same reaction I do to the song because most people don't listen to the lyrics...and by the way, Tiny Dancer is probably my favorite Elton John song, so I think you have terrific taste.

I think it is appropriate. That is actually the song I chose because as a child my dad called me his "tiny dancer". Pick a song that means something to you both.

only if you live in the 70's i think it's a really bad song. I hate the sang, actually. If you like it though... sure.
