okay so theres this guy and he is 17. i really really like him but im only about to turn 16. i specifically told him i will not have sex with him at least till im 18 or if i was ever to marry him and he is okay with that. He is a very decent person and understands me really well. He does have and past and he did drop out of school but he went back and got his GED, and now he is going to college to be a nurse. Im willin to give him a chance but my parents dont want to give him a chance. I do understand their side and agree with them in a lot of ways, but i still want them to give him a chance. tell me what u think? i am being completely honest cause i need answers. i make strait a's in school, i plan to be a neonatal nurse, i dont like to lie, i have never snuck out, and i have morals that i follow. i am not who i am cause anybody wants me to be this way. I am the way i am because i choose to be this way. I dont understand why my parents dont trust me with this guy and it breaks my heart that they dont cause they have no reason not to. i really want to be with this guy. he treats me right and makes me feel important. someone tell what to say to my parents????

its good that you have morals...
but its your damned life, to do with what you please, you should tell them that you understand their veiws BUT that you are willing to give this guy a chance, and you would really appreciate their support...

Arrange a meeting between them because your parents might need to get to know him better to trust him. And it sounds like you have good judgement. See if your parents agree, and ask them if they trust you. If they say they do, ask them why they don't trust you with this guy. Let them know that you know how to handle yourself and aren't going to do anything that you'll regret. This might help. If they're completely set against him, there's not much else you can do but letting them get to know your guy well and see that he's changed.

ask them why they dont trust him and then go from there . and good for you setting boundaries with him and I am glad that he respects that . good luck .
