Noticed a few things:

every night I repeatedly check my geckos cage until I fall asleep,
things like: earlier on i hit my wardrobe while getting dressed by accident, i had to stop everything to hit the back of my other hand on the wardrobe aswell
i have to tap an even amount of times
i have to chew on both sides of the mouth the same amount of times

and a few others

I also write with perfect grammar unless writing lists (eg. above). This is just your opinion, too worried to go to a doctor.

Good God yes!! That sounds worse than me and I was diagnosed with OCD in my final yr of university although I had suffered with it since before I even went to uni, it was affecting my work and I had to see someone in the end.
Dont be afraid of seeing a doctor, there is nothing to be ashamed of. I get the feeling from what you wrote that you see it as a really bad thing. I know how embarrasing it is, but I had people actually catch me doing my little rituals and THAT was embarrasing!! Society is predjudiced against mental illness and that is 100% wrong. Do not carry that predjudice against yourself. You wouldnt say racism is right so, why hurt urself by denying urself help becuase of ignorant ppls ideas? that you have somehow gradually accepted as right?
Go see a doctor and get urself sorted out. I was given anti depressants to help with OCD and they can be used to treat it, despite their association with depression.
I also used to get the perfect grammer thing too, and wasted a lot of my time for writing essays at uni trying to get my grammar perfect when they were still in their rough stages.
I also made my hands bleed from washing them too much. If a fly came into the kitchen, I wanted to wash everything in the kitchen, I was so convinced I was going to get ill,

I have learned about OCD, and the newest cognitive techniques that are very successfull tell you to remind urself that these thoughts are OCD and not reality. Focus upon the fact that its the OCD, but nothing real to worry about.
OCD is caused when a circuit in the brain for dealing with anxiety becomes permanently activated. This makes you feel unsafe. The rational part of your mind then eventually starts generating solutions to ur anxiety, and these come out in the bizzare OCD behaviours and rituals. Its effectively your primaeval brain shouting at ur mind "im scared and anxious" and after it does not subside after a certain time, ur mind suggests silly things like checking doors as soulutions. But of course, the original source is still there and this needs to be dealt with, either through congnitive therapy or through medication. Good luck !! x

I have also done similar things and justified them by telling myself if I don't something bad will happen and it will be my fault, this makes you believe that the behaviour is worth doing as it will stop someone from getting hurt or dying, although doing these things won't stop it.
I do things in threes(it used to be all the time and it is just some of the time now) and then I progressed onto doing things nine times because 3x3=9. I would do the tapping thing, I would also open and close doors a certain amount of times, take a certain amount of sips of a drink and bites of food.
It can be very hard to get out of, and when it takes over your life it does become OCD, which is a very crippling condition, as you live in accordance with these quirks and they can ruin your day to day life.
I would try to stop doing it, remember-you don't have to do it, your mind is telling you you have to, but in reality, you don't. Whilst it is in an early stage try to suppress it now, it will only get harder to stop as time goes on,
If it becomes an issue, see your gp.

I am not an expert but it sounds like OCD type behavior to me... I think there is a spectrum of severity. Perhaps your OCD is not so bad, but if it interferes with your life or relationships you probably should see a doctor

I'm not sure but it seems to me you could be superstitious, you probably believe in old saying. but if you are worried consult your doctor about it.
It will help to get a professional perspective on the matter and put your mind to rest.
Hope this is helpful enough!!!!!

Sure is, buddy! Change up the pace. Do things, go places, and eat stuff you have no pattern for. Keep your mind on its toes. This is what helped me get over it, maybe it'll supplement you.

Yep, that's OCD. You could go to the doctor, recieve meds, speficially SSRIs, which usually have mild side effects and then go to a therapist and go through cognitive therapy. I do this and it works out nicely for me. I dunno, I guess it got too bad, you have to make that decision for yourself. Good luck.

Its OCD. The fact that you dont want to see a doctor suggests it is progressing to florid psychosis.

The doctors are there to help. Get checked out. What's the worst that could happen?
