Faith without works is dead. We have to preach what we know, and do what we preach. We are all obligated to believe and to do what we believe.

If the preachers were paying more attention to the Bible, they would have nothing to do with politics at all. Jesus certainly didn't ally himself with a national group. He told his disciples to spread the word everywhere, regardless of national boundaries, ethnicity, age, gender, or form of government. I do think the US is a great place to live, and I'm grateful to live here, and I'm glad we've managed to get rid of some things, but we have a long way to go. For instance, 5% of the population controls 95% of the wealth. Or, was it 3% controls 97%? It doesn't matter what the exact numbers are, it is completely out of whack. And, our morals? Oh, please. We tolerate way too much. One of the signs that the end is near is that people (actually, the Bible says men) will become more and more self absorbed, lovers of money, disobedient to parents, boastful, cruel, hating what is good. See 2 Timothy 3:1-3.

There is definitely a connection there but all of us Christians are to blame as we sat around and let elected officials in office who were atheists slowly take away our freedom to worship, our constitution went out the door long ago and if you remember back in the 70's when prayer went out of schools and our young people were not taught about the ten commandments or nothing, most of the people who are in the churches today to go on sunday nights much less on wednesday nights as I think very few christians are left, I think when the rapture comes and everybody who is left behind heads for the church they will be suprised by how many cars are in the parking lot, great question, may God Bless YOU!!

I haven't been to "many" churches, so I can not say from personal experience, however, I have heard some pretty good preachers say that many churches no longer preach the unvarnished word of God.
If this is true, and I have no reason to disbelieve it, then we are in BIG trouble. God will not continue to allow America to continue in prosperity forever, without chastisement. God chastises those He loves. He has been more than patient with us as we have allowed abortion, child abuse, drug/alcohol abuse, gambling, adultery, and pornography to lead us to the brink of destruction.
However, we can not just blame the ministers, each person is ultimately responsible for searching for the truth. If your spirit within you somehow just doesn't seem to be fulfilled by the message you get in church, read the bible for yourself. Test everything you are taught against the word of God. If you can't find two scriptures to back up the teaching, you may want to rethink the validity of the teaching. I believe all scripture is God breathed. The Bible says that if we seek Him, we will find Him. If we knock, the door will be opened. The deluded preacher will have to answer to God. However, so will we, if we felt something was wrong, but did not take the time to seek the truth through Him .

I disagree. I think the concept the America has morally declined is a lie.
Take anytime frame prior and the people of this country were probably less moral.
Genocide of Indians
Slavery of Blacks
Not allowing women too vote.
Robber Barons and greed of the early 20 th century
Segragation
Vietnam
Nuclear build up of the cold war.
Granted the war in Iraq is horrible. But, I think in the big picture. the USA and its people are much better off and morally more decent than before.

when i saw your topic, i thought you might be onto something. But i see you're just on something.
If anything, christian preachers have been stubborn about old rules that no one believes in and it turns people off from more basic morals of religion that actually make sense.
Or, people are really stupid, and they're just more free today. Weird, how more freedom (the bedrock of American values) is allegedly leading to The End of the World (the bedrock of biblical literalism). Maybe the two don't go together after all!

I agree but the Christians have a major blame too if you read the Bible it states that 2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. So Dear Christian are you praying for this nation, are you taking time to humble yourself before the Lord and seek HIS FACE? If not then you are as much part of the problem as those in the Ministry. It is true that we in the Ministry are to serve but if we serve a meal of Words of Faith, you stil have to avail yourself of it.

Generation after generation bemoan the morality of the current generation. Things we're so great back in the day. You just like to gloss over the racism, sexism, xenophobia and homophobia. There was far less tolerance for individual difference.
Most people were not virgins when they married. They had sex with their fiance', or they married shortly after the pregnancy was discovered.
Granted communities are less cohesive due to the transient nature of our society. Lighten up! Things are not all bad.

I believe you are right, but they don't like the truth here either.
A big problem is that seminaries and theological Institutes, even good old bible Colleges don't teach prophesy or end time preaching so the young preachers have to learn it for themselves.

No, I don't think I will see Judges 17, 18, or 19...Are people not able to think for themselves? They have to be spoonfed by their preachers in how to know right from wrong?

why just direct that question at people in the U.S.
why not all over the world?
when you read your bible, dont we see the same pattern over and over again.
you have a lost people that cry out for their God
then God trials them, delivers them, then man goes back to things thats not of God that got them in the situation in the first place.
i think one thing that would help us snap back in to the right place is hearing the voice of God like they did in the days of moses. when they heard the voice of God, fear and respect came quickly
attentions wasnt on the flesh but on the Master
i use to act the fool at school, when my dad came to get me at the request of my teacher, i tell you the truth i had no problem acting the way i should, for fear and respect came at the sight of my father
