I have been growing my hair for many years now and its quite long. Now when I run my fingers through it, I find peices of my hair (not with a root) come out.

What do I do? I'm not buying $6 shampoo. Any home remedies or cheap shampoos that will make it stop breaking?

1] have you been trimming it regularly?
2] new product - shampoo, conditioner, styling gel, spray? Check ingredients, make sure there is no alcohol in them
3] new hair appliance - dryer, straightener, iron, hot rollers?
Use a thermal protection spray., and don't use tools every day
4] do you wear your hair in a ponytail or tight braid frequently - could be breaking off in front? Leave it loose, or clip with a barette, loosely
5] do you brush your hair when it's wet? Comb only, because wet hair is fragile
6] do you use a deep conditioner at least once a month?
7] are you eating the same amount of protein you used to?
8] do you take vitamins with minerals every day?
9] any other symptoms - may need to be checked for thyroid disease

you do need to trim your hair once in a while, even when you are growing it long. Also your hair falls out daily, you will not always see the root because if the hair is in the last stage of growth, the root has shriveled up and is almost invisible. You need to brush it regularly to remove all the loose hair. It wouldn't hurt to steam it with olive oil once a week. Also suave carries several kinds of shampoos that are very affordable. Just look for the kind you want.

I had a similar situation. and actual, you opt to close the hair cuticles and warm oil opens them, so as that should okay be the situation. Dyes or maybe some shampoos try this, and somewhat the deep conditioners will, they open the cuticle to get conditioner interior the hair shaft. considering the fact that hair is acidic, I thinly slice 3 lemons into my blender (leaving peels on), upload approximately 2 cups of water, then run it on the utmost point for approximately 2 minutes. Then I rigidity out the pulp. i take advantage of a no -sulfates shampoo and because that's totally thick, I combination it 0.5 and 0.5 with the juice. as quickly as a week I additionally placed the lemon juice on my hair (by brushing my hair forwards and dipping it right into a bowl of the mixture, then get it on my palms and moist something of my head). I permit it dry and take a shower next morning as familiar. No - your hair won't experience nasty and sticky, and so on, it actual feels good! besides, my hair is looking definitely great! I nevertheless have some breakage, in spite of the undeniable fact that it is so much less now! and that i've got basically been doing this approximately 2 weeks. It basically retains getting extra constructive! And my hair feels SO good! I basically use a leave in conditioner, and lots much less of it than I used to. i will run my palms via my hair and are available away devoid of a strand, and my hair is far less notted. My fly aways are very almost long gone, too. I actual have spent lots and had very constrained, short lasting consequences, this way has so a great way accomplished not something yet get extra constructive! good success!

Have your doctor check your thyroid levels. an under active thyroid gland can cause hair to be brittle. I also just found out that very hard water can cause the same problem. get a good contitioner and over apply it wrap your head in plastic. shower cap or saran wrap and sit under the dryer. This opens the hair and lets the conditioner in. works for me.( or sit in the sun for an hour) then rinse.

Honey its the cheep shampoo thats doing it. Go to a salon get Joico k-pak intense hydrator. And get yourself a pro shampoo. Those cheep shampoos depending on what you use and how often you shampoo your hair, it will make it worse and is really not healthy for your hair.
