I think the first thing I would do is paint the bathroom, then decide what color you want in the hall.

The hallway paint should flow with the rest of the colors on that level. Since bathroom is a private area, paint the hall
a light neutral or pastel, to reflect light:
white or ivory
peach or coral
yellow or gold
lime or mint

If the bathroom door is left open then you might want the color to match the hallway. If it is closed all the time even when no one in there then what ever color you want.

My bathroom is sort of moss green and I used a butter cream colour for the wood trim and cabinets and everyone says it's gorgeous.

our bathroom used to be that sort of color. we now have a pretty beigey butterscotch in our hallway to match. it's really warm in contrast with the cool green. we have red wall accents in out hall also. that looks really nice that way

gold. if you have a window in your hallway the sun shines on it and its a beautiful effect.
P.S. you'll need to buy a lot of paint though because gold is so light.
