if you just want a garage for storage you can buy a steel one to self erect yourself.just leaves the cost of putting down a solid pad then.and if you decide to move you can take it with you or sell it on.most catalogues sell sheds ,garages now which means it may be a bit more expensive but no interest and paying for it monthly instead of one large amount.

I am not entirely sure but I can say that I was quoted £10 000 for a good quality extension. Therefore, I would estiamte a detached garage at 3-4000.

3-4000.00 plus the slab and driveway costs for a basic 2 car.

Builders will give free quotations, ask a couple.
You don`t say where you are, prices differ from area to area.

from£10.000to £15.000 depending if in brick(facework)or just in blookwork(bresblock} also type off roof pitched(tiled}
or a flat roof but check with local council the type you can put up
