The Quran, The Bible, Jewish teachings all speak of Jesus. They speak of him in different ways, but still speak of Jesus nonetheless. I know that I haven't mentioned every religion (or book) that refers to Jesus in its history in some fashion, but with all the differences between these religions, wouldn't it be safe to say that Jesus did exist in some way shape or form? It seems like that is the only thing most religions agree on.

For all you ignorant people. Jesus did exist. Regardless of whether you believe him to be the son of God that's your prerogative but historically he did exist. The lawyer who is in the Guinness book of records for winning the most court cases and became a judge for the high court (UK), set about investigating claims to the existence of Jesus Christ. He was an atheist. Needless to say he found the evidence for the existence of Jesus so overwhelming that he converted to Christianity. You may feel that I have just made this all up, but why don't you check for yourselves. Many of you have made assumptions that Jesus did not exist based on.............nothing. Just pure opposition to Christianity,. Why don't you go and research PROPERLY and THOROUGHLY. then maybe your assumptions may become valid. Although....I very much doubt it.

I am of the opinion that maybe 2000 plus years ago there was a man that may have been called Jesus and he may have been an influential figure. I certainly don't believe in any of the 'miracles' that were supposed to have occured.
Nobody can truly say one way or another is the only true answer .
All the other answers that say yes or no are just peoples personal opinions.
You should believe what you feel is right in your own mind and not what other people say is right.
But one thing I would say is always be open to other peoples views because it is a small minded person that thinks they are right and everyone else is wrong .
I am in no way religious but that has nothing to do with whether I think a person of a certain name existed or not.

From what I have read there is nothing to prove that he was an historical person. One theory is that he did exist and was a very charismatic minor prophet. His disciples were very good with public relations and created what became Christianity.

The Lost Gospels put a different spin on Jesus and the disciples.

Jesus is a historical figure. He did exist, and i believe various Historians will agree too. What is up for debate, and what actually theologically separates the three religious beliefs you mention, is whether or not HE is Deity.

Actually, most of the non-Biblical accounts of Jesus have found to be counterfeit. We don't really know if Jesus existed historically (in fact, there is some suspicion that the Biblical Jesus was actually a composite of other mythological and historical figures, rather than being an actual person).

I think it's possible that he may have existed, but I don't think he was the son or embodiment of god, not Divine in any way. I asked a question like this a while ago, but I directed it to other atheists. There were some interesting answers.

Say, 'We believe in Allah and that which has been revealed to us, and that which was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and in that which was given to Moses and Jesus and other Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them and to Him we submit.'

There's no conclusive proof and as for the miracles he supposedly performed, there's even less proof. In fact, proof is a word somewhat out of place when talking of biblical stories. All it essentially is, is taking someones word for it. Like a lot to do with the Bible's word, it's an act of faith.

And many secular historians also write about Jesus.

Most of what false cults say about Jesus is just plain wrong.

Most people believe he did exist, the one thing people cannot agree on was whether he was the son of God, a prophet or just a wise man who was ahead of his time.
