its cute, but looking at it makes my back hurt lol........its not good to put all the weight on one shoulder, it will hurt. i think u should get a normal one that goes over both of ur arms, balances the weight. im going into 12th grade and ive had bad experiences with backpacks, so i just use a rolling one and no one cares, they think its cute cuz its pink lol.

I don't really like the butterfly, but that's just me. Make sure it can fit everything and isn't too hard on your back and shoulder. I had a messenger bag for a year, and it was pretty bad when I had to walk to a place.
I'm also going into 7th grade, and I got a messenger bag, but returned it for a normal backpack.

It's cute for seventh grade. But I don't think that'll be enough. Maybe I was just really small in seventh grade, but I think you'll need MUCH more space for school supplies and such. If I had that bag, I would end up trading it in after the first couple weeks. I'd suggest getting a large, heavy duty backpack also, just in case.

My daughter had a messenger bag in 7th grade...there just was not enough room for all the notebooks and textbooks though.

I suggest you get something else. Avoid messanger bags. They put your books on one of your shoulders and it will ACHE. BADLY. I should know. I'm going into 7th too and got a backpack from LL Bean. It's cute, big, and comfy for your shoulders:

It is very cute. Just make sure it is big enough for everything you will need to take back and forth, it looks kind of small.
