It makes no difference. You should just be aware of who your audience is and what the intended effect is. I have a couple Christian friends, I generally try to avoid phrases like that around them. However, I have no qualms about offending a random Christian, my "blasphemy" should have no affect on their world. And if it does...so what...grow some thicker skin.

I try not to use them around strangers, as in this day and age, people now get offended over the smallest things, including words and phrases such as 'Hell No' or 'Oh My God'

god is not a swear word unless there is a damnit afterwards but, i taught my kids to say oh my gosh simply b/c it's nicer. from a christian view point, oh my god, is like taking the name in vain. hell isn't awful but i don't like to hear it from someone to young so i consider it a swear word.

I'm always using those words without a second's thought about the meaning of them. They have become such common phrases. I have a friend who is very religious and it drives me nuts when she tells me off for saying 'god', 'jesus christ' or 'hell'!!

It is blasphemous and to do so deliberately infront of a Christian is offensive. You would not deliberately cause a muslim to eat pork, so why subject God and His people to all that, just because you do not believe in God. Why use that word then? Why not sausages!?

i wont say i never use them, but i try to use them less and less
the less you use words that can be considered swearing, the better
ideal, is to never swear, but also not to give offense to others that do

firstly if you don't believe in God then why are you saying it?
but yes you could say it's a swear word because your not supposed to mention the Lord's name in vein but by saying this you are.
i do believe in God and try not to say this because it is one of God's commandment's (do not mention the Lord's name in vein).good luck and think about what your saying next time xxx
