Friend,
This is not an original idea of Tim LaHaye's. Though he is a false teacher the rapture is a biblical concept...
...at the rapture, Christ is coming FOR His own...blood bought, sanctified, Bride. His children will see Him and be caught up with Him in the AIR and will go to a wedding feast...which lasts for exactly 7 years.
This is were the Jews missed it. They were looking for a King....not a servant. They are still looking.
At the end of the tribulation period, He will step foot on Mtn of
Olives. (Notice that He will touch ground this time, but did not the first time.)This time He is coming WITH His own and every eye shall see Him.
As far as being secret.....it won't be a secret to those that belong to Him. When we are raptured in that twinkling of an eye, those that remain may wonder what happened.
This is one of those tiny little things, but it is an important key.
In the second and third chapter of Revelation, Christ is speaking to the churches. We....His children...are the churches.
The very next chapter (4) says "AFTER this I looked, and, beheld, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me (Rev 1:10 tells you to whom this voice belongs) which said Come up hither, and I will shew the things which must be HEREAFTER".
Hereafter means following the other things. The churches are never addressed again. Anything after chapter 3 was in the hereafter.

I asked the Lord about the rapture & the 1st Resurrection.
The answer I got is that the 1st Resurrection started when Jesus raised from the dead & will be complete at the beginning of the Millinnium reign of Christ.
And that the rapture is part of the 1st Resurrection & I will be part of the rapture.
As is preached lately that God is sending the Gosple of Christ in all nations & blessing His People. So? God blesses His people. And Jesus said the end will happen after the word of God is published & preached in all nations. So? That is about the time we should be aware it could happen. The rapture. After the rapture, then the spiritfilled Church is raptured leaving the earth & also the Holy Spirit is leaving with the Church. As the Holy Spirit is who resurrects us. Left behind are those just about Christians, or low on oil Christians. Who will turn to Christ & not take the mark of the beast & be martyred for not taking the mark 666 of the beast or bowing to it.
With the Christians in heaven, this lets the antichrist rule. 2 Thes.. That is when all hell breaks out on earth.

Although supporters attempt to use bible verses to try and support their idea of a rapture, it is a stretch to say the least.
In Revelation it says nothing about believers being whisked away in heaven and spared the tribulation. If anything, the further along you read the more likely it sounds that believers will be left on earth.
Many view the tribulation as a punishment. So, in this light, the think that "true" believers should be spared this. They say that opponents of the rapture simply believe that one needs to earn their way into heaven by suffering in the tribulation. They counter and claim that G-d would not let his believer's suffer liket his.
The truth lies in the New Testament and the lack of evidence supporting a pre-tribulation rapture. Revelation is a very detailed book, outlining absolutely everything. If the rapture is true why would G-d simply not say anything about it - even though everything, done to the diminsions of heaven, are mentioned?
In fact, in one part of Revelation is has believers waiting under the alter of G-d, those that have passed away, waiting for the tribulation to be over and Jesus to reign on earth. They are constantly crying out to G-d, asking how long they will be made to wait. Why would G-d take all the Christians off the earth merely to put them into a type of limbo?

The Rapture will indeed occure... it will not be The Second Coming of Christ.... because Christ will not return to Earth at that time... He will call His Church to Him... La haye is not exactly correct in what he states about The Rapture and the events following... I do not subscribe to Lahay's pov on Church matters for the most part
The Rapture will not be a secret.... every one will know it has occured.
No... I have not read those books and have no interest in doing so... I know The Truth and that is good enough for me

The rapture did not start with LaHaye, it is very Biblical. Christ will return in the air to take His people out before God judges the earth. Christ will return bodily at the end of the tribulation, with His people, to set up the kingdom on earth.

Misinterpretation by evangelicals of the book of Revelations mixed with other New Testament scripture to interpret the 2 stage return of Christ.
LaHaye got his inspiration from books written by Hal Lindsay decades ago.
The Christian church didn't believe in the pretribulation rapture until the
mid 19th century. Now evangelicals believe in the blessed hope but it isn't found in scripture.

IF YOU READ THE SCRIPTURE CORRECTLY IT SAYS AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH SO SHALL IT BE IN THE DAYS OF THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN...
THE FLOOD CAME AND TOOK THE UNGODLY AWAY FIRST AND NOAH STAYED ON THE EARTH.
THE TARES ARE REAPED FIRST..NOT THE WHEAT..AT THE END OF THE WORLD. (AGE)
SO....IT IS PRETTY PLAIN THAT THERE IS NO RAPTURE, THAT WORD IS NOT IN THE BIBLE
WE SHALL ALL BE CHANGED....BUT WE WILL STAY ON THE EARTH....AT THE LAST TRUMP IS WHEN THAT HAPPENS..
GOD IS GOING TO MAKE ALL THINGS NEW NOT ALL NEW THINGS.
THE RAPTURE THEORY IS A TRADITION HANDED DOWN AND SOUNDS GOOD BUT PEOPLE NEED TO STUDY THIS AGAIN.
PEOPLE THAT HAVE DIED ARE ALREADY IN HEAVEN..THEY HAVE RISEN FIRST.
THATS WHAT IT MEANS WHERE THE SCRIPTURE SAYS THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RISE FIRST...THEY HAVE AND THEY ARE ALREADY THERE AND JESUS WILL BRING THEM WITH HIM WHEN HE RETURNS TO SET UP HIS KINGDOM ON THIS EARTH.
THE EARTH IS THE LORDS. IT IS HIS FOOTSTOOL..

Fiction.
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
The Scriptures are clear and plain.
Why don't we believe them? Why don't we understand them?

I actually suffered through the movie with Kirk Cameron recently. The books are garbage and the movie was even worse. The whole idea of "end times" has been ridiculous since Jesus started preaching it 2000 years a go.
