There's a huge diffrence so you shouldn't have any problems. Confident is to holding your chest out high and having . . . well, confidence. as where cocky is too 'I'm so great. Bow down to me. Your not worthy of my great presence.' you get what I mean? Being confident is like being cocky in your own mind, not having to tell anyone else so. While cocky is being confident, to an extent. So try not to go so far.

It's hard to be confident without being cocky.. just remember if you seem to be talking about yourself too much.. you're being cocky. Being yourself and being okay with being yourself and not hiding anything is being confident. Don't try to make yourself seem better than you are or try to prove you're better than what people think.

first of all you are definitely already confident rather than cocky because you are worrying about this! lol, good for you! i'd say that the difference is talking about what you're good at rather than showing them...that sounds kind of complicated but like if you're really funny, make jokes every once in awhile when appropriate rather than doing them to an excessive point. i also think that confidence shows when a guy takes good care of himself, like hygene and style. hope it helps!

Never overtalk anyone always wait to give them a response. This is one thing that on-one likes and it is the key to good manners.
So long as you can communicate in a good manner this is all you need to do.

Just remain cool at all times under pressure.

I work in a tough sales environment and i am always cool without being at all cocky.

Just act as if you know what you are talking about and do not flinch when you are giving a good solid answer.

I tend to avoid talking about my own good qualities or disparaging other people's bad ones. My girlfriend called it a "silent sureness" one time. You can be confident without telling people that you're great. I think keeping a good posture and a firm handshake when you meet people kinda lets em know that you know who you are and you're alright. The insecure people have to belittle others, brag about themselves , etc....

Confident is knowing your strengths and that you're just as good as anyone else...a worthy human being. Cocky is thinking you are better than others and above them.

Cocky= always bragging and trying to prove that you're the best.
confident = knowing you're good enough, whether or not you're the best, and not making an issue of it.

Nothing says confident like good natured self afacement. Make fun of your own shortcomings. Part of being confident is recognizing your own imperfections and accepting them.

Say how dumb you are out loud quite often. Then know inside you are truly the best and the smartest guy in the room and the other peons should count themselves lucky to be around you. YOU THE MAN!!! ...and don't let anyone tell you different!!

Other option:

Don't talk much....hard to put foot in mouth when mouth is closed.

Put on a smile and pretend to be humble and kind. After a while it will just be second nature. It works like a charm.
