Oh, great. Just when I start getting some good answers to my previous post about a nicer dialogue, someone goes and starts a verbal war with Egypt...!!

Now children, let's all play nicely, OK? We have all aired our grievances - let's start edging forward and try and say some positive things about each other. Yes, I know you will all find this terribly hard - but TRY!

Jews/Israelis - say something nice, that you genuinely think is good/attractive about Muslims

Muslims - you do the same, for Jews.

I'm really trying here - come on guys, help me out....

MIKEINRI - you gave a lovely and compassionate response. I am going to remain optimistic for a few days and hope that we get some similarly friendly responses from our Muslim guests in this section...

HOPELESS: your post would have been lovely, but for the spiteful remark about 'zionists'. I happen to be a zionist - and my only 'agenda' as you put it, is peace. I asked people to say positive things - perhaps you'd care to try again....?!

THANK YOU EU CITIZEN!!! At last someone actually read my post and said a nice thing! You are the first to do so, though MikeinRi has said positive things in other forums to Muslim yahoo answerers.

As EU CITIZEN asks, could people please refrain from using the term he/she finds offensive? It's a fair request. Cheers.

Thank you Da Man & NY Chutzpah - let's hope the others follow suit!

MARK: zionism is not the root problem, because even before Israel was established in 1948, there were conflicts.

OMER & SUMMER - hey thanks guys, what lovely answers! And Omer, yes, both sides must acknowledge that they have made mistakes and must stop demonizing the other, I agree with you. Shalom to you both and I look forward to lots of good discussions with you on this site!
ISRAELIS - come on you lot! Start adding some positive comments!

As a Muslim, I notice that many Jews are kind and reasonable. Most are rational, but there are those few who behave irrationally and with disrespect--but hey, don't we find that in all groups and societies in this world? For example, I really don't want to point fingers, but WittyWeasel can be very disrespectful, bias, and hateful. He conveniently refers to Muslims as "Mohammedans" and often refers their behavior as "Mohemmedan theology" or the like. I believe he purposely does this knowing it is disrespectful and bias. But most other Jews (on here) maintain peace instead of fighting irrationally or unreasonably. Mikeln, as I have found out he is a Social Studies teacher, is quite intelligent and makes many valid points, although I have to admit I cannot agree with all of them. But at least he does not make too many ignorant remarks and understands certain situations and acknowledges the facts instead of jumping to conclusions and making impuslive assumptions. Mikeln, if you are reading this, around what age students do you teach? I am 15, almost 16. Would I qualify to be a (your) student?

Tabatha, I love your idea of a peaceful dialogue. I just want to make one thing clear: It is not always the Muslims who are wrong and the Jews who are right, and vice-versa. We must eliminate some double standards that a few have set forward in order to truly achieve a peace dialogue.

Good luck, and Shalom! :)

Nice question :-))

OK, I'm Muslim, And I live in Britain. At the moment in Europe, Muslims are having a hard time, and there is a lot of prejudice against us. Jewish people in the UK are very supportive of us against this prejudice, because they understand what it was like for them in the past.
They understand our need to practice, our religion peaceably. They understand our, dress, our, food, our culture for example...Jews and Muslims worked together to stop animal rights activists banning halal, and kosher meat.

Oh, and I like chicken soup, and I like klezmer music.

And Jewish American George Soros, has done a lot of good for Muslims in the Balkans where I'm originally from.

As for Israelis. I have never been to Israel, but I would like to. I heard it is a beautiful country. I don't know many Israelis, but those I do are nice. There are a lot of human rights groups and peace groups in Israel which shows that they have a good heart, and want to improve the situation.

@@@I think we can live in peace, we just have to ignore those on both sides who have a vested interest in promoting hate@@@

With pleasure, there are many wonderful things here in Israel which we owe to our Arab neighbours:

1. Israeli food - falafel, shwarma, humus, and tehina are all originally Arabic foods. To those who claim that at least falafel is surely an Israeli invention, let me point out that there is no word in the Hebrew language beginning with an 'f' sound which is not a foreign import

2. Israeli markets - imitations of Arab souks, which cannot quite match the colour and diversity of the original article

3. Magnificent mosques - the Dome of the Rock mosque is the most beautiful building in Jerusalem, and that is why almost every Jerusalem postcard places it at its centre

4. Sephardi dancing - possibly the liveliest form of dance in the world, and quite clearly derived from Sephardi Jews having adopted it while living in Arab lands

I commend you for trying to bring peace. Thank you.
Israelis- Wow where can I start? I am in complete awe of Israel. It is such a beautiful country filled with strength and unity. Through all of the hardship and pain, Israelis have stuck together to make their land prosperous and give their children encouragement and good educations. Israel is the best example of picking yourself back up and striving for success in situations that try to block them from succeeding. God bless Israel♥

Muslims-As an American, I have come in contact with many Muslims and most of them are against the great state of Israel (which is ashame), some of them don't have an opinion either way. Good thing about Muslims are that they usually pray 5x a day.

The Muslim girl that I see during my work day wears some very pretty scarves. The place where I buy my morning coffee is run by ppl from yemen and they make very good coffee, when they see me coming they have it ready for me by the time I am at the counter, (unfortunately they sold me a losing ticket for the mega million drawing the other night) We never speak about politics.

It is a vulgar term could you not use it malka?

Jews and Muslims lived to gather in peace for years they were divided only on the issue of colonial Zionism. Zionism was seen as a Muslim World divider. Zionism was seen as stab in the back by most Muslims.
