Your question should state "IF" he fails to make the chase. Jr's under contract till the end of the year/season with DEI so he does have obligations to DEI and all his sponsors to drive the #8.

If he steps out of the 8 he has no ride for the rest of the year. So he will finish in the 8 for DEI.

He is under contract until the end of the season.. He wants to win one for his guys (team) he is committed to that..Whether he has good luck and gets in the chase or not, he wants to win races, he has said this numerous times, he is very determined to win.......GO Dale Jr Go.....

I can't see any reason that the Jr will not finish the season, both DEI and Jr.s would look awful if either of them pulled the plug early.

he will finish it in the 8 i believe since not only does DEI not have a replacement yet but why would Hendrick let go of Kyle Busch when hes in the chase?

Why would he get out of the car, and where would he go? His ride isn't till next year, and there isn't another car he can jump into till next year, unless he wants to race for a 3rd tier team (Bam, Furniture Row)
