Yes, it just has a different color. Plus it's totally better for you as the reguar ( white) vinegar is distilled from petroleum products.

Depends on what you are using the vinegar for. If you are using it for stuff like dressings, then it's fine as a replacement. You'll just get the taste of apples instead of whatever type of the original vinegar you were supposed to use.

sure it can be but distilled vinegar is clear and just has the acid really. Between the two I can taste no difference, that and balsamic is another story......but you should be ok

yes it can, but it may be a bit sweeter than regualr vinegar. But it will still have the sour-ish taste, but not as muuch.

Absolutely. Vinegar is vinegar...the flavors are slighlty different but they can be used interchangeably.
