I know for pain you can give him a 325 milligram aspirin (my oldest pug has athritis and the vet told me that would work). If there is puncture wounds, I would wash it with some anti bacterial hand soap, and put some Neosporin on it. If there are no punctures, I would apply an ice pack (or bag of frozen veggies) on the ear. I know about not having the money for the vet. I have 3 pugs and it gets to be so crazy with vet costs, so I try to take care of as many problems as I can by researching treatments online. If his ear gets infected however, I think you will have to go get him some antibiotics. If you explain to the vet your low on cash, he may prescribe you the prescription withou actually having to see you. Vets are really good usually about helping out if you explain you don't have the money but want to take care of your dog.
Good luck, and tell your pug that it's a lover, not a fighter!!!!

If the dog was in a fight with another dog it needs a rabies booster.
It sounds like your dog is uncomfortable. The best thing to do is go to the vet and have them treat the ear.
The swelling can be an indication of a hematoma which is painful. If the dog shakes its head it could get worse.
Any puncture wounds should be cleaned with hydrogen peroxide. You can apply neosporin to the area if you have it.
You can hot compress the ear up to 3 times a day for 10 minutes.
Because I don't know the health status of your dog I don't recommend any systemic drugs such as buffered aspirin. If you are tight on cash now isn't the time to find out your dog is allergic to aspirin.
If the swelling doesn't significantly go down in 24 hours you must take the dog to the vet.

it's the law if a dog needs vt care then you are to get it for the dog. i guess you better call animal control to take the dog for you to sign it over so it can be taken care of correctly.
I guess if you were teh one attacked and injured like that you wouldn't go to the hospital and possibly die of a bad infection because you don't have money.
