I'm a receptionist for a plastic surgeon in Baltimore, MD and his costs for tummy tuck ranges from 4,000-6,000 not including hospital fees and aneasthea (I can't spell!) fees. A good plastic surgeon will also make sure you are a good canidate for a tummy tuck. If you have had an extreme amount of weight loss (such as after a gastric bypass) you could attempt to put the tummy tuck, then called a panniculectomy, through insurance. I've seen tons of people get theirs covered and also a lot who weren't covered. A lot of people come in for a consultation and end up leaving pissed off because the doctor tells them they're too large for surgery and that a tummy tuck wouldn't help them unless they lost weight through diet and exercise first. Hope this helps. (But all in all, I don't think I've seen a patient who, afterwards, was unhappy with their decision to get it done.)
